Singapore City Views

Architecture Singapore is the most diverse metropolis in the world, it caters to all ethnicities and sits right between the eastern and western cultures. The city is hosting living quarters for all groups and displays antique as well as modern lifestyle, which makes it an extremely interesting place to walk through for hours and hours.

Take for example, little india. You won't see a lot of non-Indian people in the quarter, instead tons of shops selling food, textiles, Indian Videos and Music, Jewelry etc etc. The houses are beautifully painted (no, its not Jamaica) and religious items such as statues and temples can be found everywhere.
This Indian Temple is ornate all over with small and large statues, but is not missing a coke vending machine on its premises. On the side, there is a trap for crows, a major issue for many cities in Asia.
All religions find their places of worship here. Islam, Shinto, Buddhism, you name it. The center picture shows a Buddha statue on which people stick very thin leaves of gold as a luck-bringer.
The general diversity in the city is amazing. You can find street vendors selling the most obscure medicine, very modern buildings in a crazy art-deco style and shops selling nothing but antique mechanic scales from Sweden...
If you need a local specialty from another country, you will find it in Singapore and you will find it in the local language also.
