Lonely Japan

Japan, despite or maybe because of its overpopulation, is a lonely country. Japanese are lonely people. Couples see each other only on weekends, since everybody gets up at 5 because the avg. commuting time is very long. You eat dinner with colleagues from work since its too late for that once you come home. This also means that its very hard to keep friendships from school once you start working You would have time for that only on weekends, and do your friends have time then? Finally the conclusion is that you are completely alone once you retire. No friends, no work and an alienated life partner you rarely saw during the last decades. No wonder many old people commit suicide. So many inventions in Japan try to deal with that. Here are the two most famous ones:The Boyfriend's arm and Girlfriend's Lap pillows! The first one was already a huge success in Japan, and I am sure the second one will be similar. The Boyfriend's Arm is sold by Kameo, the other from Corporation Trane. (Here is an interview with the latter). Aparently Kameo announced earlier that they wanted to make the Lap-Pillow also, but Trane was quicker.
