JW Marriott Pukhet - Night views
![]() |
The JW Marriott Phuket [Map] is one of the numerous Hotels on the island, is listed as a 5 Star Hotel and very child-friendly. With its many restaurants and extremely long & lonely beach its surely an attraction for couples as well as families. Here are some pictures taken easter 2006. |
|
The 17 km long beach is mostly deserted. Since turtles nest there, and there are almost no hotels along, you do not have the usual 2000 tourists and umbrellas, salesmen and whatever else you might find on a beach in Thailand. What you have are a dozen people from your own hotel that you can avoid by walking a few meters away if you want. Otherwise you have somewhat clear water and neither stones not plants that you could step on in the water. This makes it a perfect place to relax and to take a swim. |

The main lobby is flanked by two buildings that form a "U" around a large pond. While during the day you might find Thai dances and musicians on a podium in the middle of the pond, you can see a very nice reflection of the moon during the nighttime. The Japanese restaurant and the bar next to the pond are perfect to enjoy the nightly setting. |

|
Since the Lobby is located on the first floor (you don't realize that when you enter the hotel), there is another pond below the previously mentioned with Thai-style lanterns which also have a very nice effect on the overall setting of the hotel. |

Since the hotel is quite large, you might expect a lot of people in the halls. However, it is not crowded at all. The lobby (left) is surely not empty during daytime due to permanent flow of leaving and arriving guests, but due to its size never crowded. The center picture shows the hall towards the SPA and the last one the entrance to the business center. Who does not want to work company where they have meetings in Phuket? |

|
Not too far away from the reception you can find a large pond with a small worship-place on a small island. A wooden bridge leads over the water which is full of frogs making quite a noise in the night. |

|
The entry to the hotel is also quite nicely done. To prevent the impression of entering the hotel on the first floor, the created a long ascent for the cars, lined by a fountain and large baskets that serve as lights. The three swimming pools between the hotel and the sea are during the day quite full. People go to reserve their place already before breakfast, so you might want to do the same in case you come in the high season and think a pool is better than the sea. There is a special pool for small kids with a water slide and a very shallow basin for toddlers. |

The decoration all over the hotel is very nicely done. Fruits, statues and other items are to be found all over the place, but never too many. Everything is spacious but not empty. |
