Galapagos Iguanas

Galapagos
Iguanas are everywhere on the coastal areas of the Islands. They, among most of the animals there are easy to step on since they move slowly and do not really see a reason to move out of the way if you would do so first. They exist in many different colors and sizes, most of them make an impression of being overweight.

The iguanas are diving into the water and scratch the alga and moss from the rocks. they have a hard mouth and you can actually hear the sound of them scratching the food off. After that, they have to go back to the sun and warm up, since the water around the islands can be very cold (from the Humbold-Stream)
Once they have found a nice spot next to the water where they can climb out and heat up, you will find dozens of them climbing over each other to find a nice place to rest. You can also find the typical traces in the sand that they leave behind all over the islands.
The variance of colors goes from deep red to bright yellow.
