The crabs are one of the most colorful animals on the whole island. Many others are also fascinating however since their shapes and sizes quite different from what one is used from home.

If you are lucky you can see Sea-Turtles. Here on picture 2, I spotted one in a small lagoon hiding directly below my feet under a rock. Later, from the boat we spotted one swimming around and another one poking out its head from the water.

At one lagoon we could see a larger group of spotted rays. They are black on the top but have many small white spots on the belly, hence the name. The spots are nice to see on picture 2.

You can even see animals that you would not expect to see without scuba-gear: a Moraine is lurking between rocks in about 40cm-deep water (pic 1)

One animal that is hard to spot is the Galapagos Penguin. They usually sit on hard to reach cliffs and do not like a lot of attention.

Crabs however, are easy to find. First of all they run around in very different size, shapes & colors, and second of all they are not as shy as usual.
