Trips & Sights
The "Explicit Lyrics" and other parental advisories have been the ever-attraction raising stickers on CDs, DVDs and Games. The other ratings for media and products are a constant discussion in many countries. They decide often over the success of the product, mostly the worse the rating, the higher the success. In todays society we see more sex & violence in the news than in movies, and finally its even real. So the meaning of those ratings is secondary for adult users which are not too easily scared, offended or disgusted. Reviews, titles, airing times etc give us a better hint what to expect than the ratings. Except one: the "I"-Ratings. Never seen it? Maybe on your next flight. It indicates in-flight-movies with an airline incident in it, as seen on Cathay Pacific. The final question there is why an airline would show such films anyhow. Its not exactly advertising for their product or is it? Maybe the film studios have more to say than the airlines on what is shown...
