Bankok Airport - With integrated Golfcourse

Trips & Sights If you have a chance to fly to Bangkok, make sure you sit at the window. You will see some parks passing by, and wondering what that might be. Then, you will see a street-barrier, with people waiting at it for you airplane to pass by. If you look closer, you will see that they are carrying golf bags... right! There is actually a complete golf course between the two runways [Map]. Not only the concerns that it might be a bit noisy for the players - what with all the landing and taking off airplanes. But you might wander how come that with all the security issues on todays airports they do not even have a fence or a tunnel for the people. The players wait at a simple red light for the airliners to pass by. The issue of possible golf balls rolling around on the runway does not seem to be an issue either, although planes have been reportedly crashed by a screw lying around somewhere and being thrown up by the wheels and sucked into the engine... I guess this is another case of "so far nothing happened"...
